So it wasn’t the game of the ages or even the game of the week, it was still a monster deal to people that can once again call themselves Pistons fans.
Charlie Villanueva led the way as he brought the offense that has been lacking from his game lately.
One of the main issues was offensive balance. So, of course, when power forward Charlie Villanueva had his most impactful game in some time, it led to team success.
Villanueva amassed 23 points and nine rebounds on 9-for-13 shooting, including 5-for-6 on three-pointers. It was his first 20-plus-point game since Dec. 12 — which just happened to be the Pistons’ last victory before Tuesday night.
“When he has a flow to the game, it makes it so much better,” Pistons coach John Kuester said. “He’s putting the ball in the hole, and he competed on defense. Give him the credit.”

Now if that was all the news then Pistons fans everywhere could notice there is no sunshine and crawl back in their hole for 6 more weeks of losing or something like that, but that is not the case and never will be with a General Manager like Joe Dumars. As we approach the trade deadline the Pistons are looking to move more players to set up the future. Prime candidates include the 31 year old Rip Hamilton and the 29 year old Tayshaun Prince due to the fact that they still have value.
One player could not cure all the Pistons’ problems, even if he was a desperately needed point guard or a low-post scorer.
“We are not a finished product,” Dumars said. “We have some holes to fill, and we will go about doing that.”
Detroit was expected to endure a rebuilding season after dealing Chauncey Billups last season, then losing Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess in free agency during the summer.
Few predicted the Pistons would be this bad. Detroit (12-25) has lost 13 of 14 and barely avoided a franchise-record losing streak earlier this week. Adding to the franchise’s woes, it usually has thousands of empty seats for home games, and those in the house for an uninspired loss last week did as much jeering as cheering.
“I would boo, too, the way we played,” forward Charlie Villanueva said. “I don’t blame them.”

Tayshaun Prince may soon be shipped out of Piston land
Should Joe D add a low post defender and pick up a stud in the draft with a high draft pick then the future would be shaping up just fine and those Piston fans could stick their heads out of the ground and see sunshine!
