The above title is a one liner from the great comedian of yesteryear, Henny Youngman, from a day gone by when we all watched television on a cathode ray tube of 13 inches in a brown wooden frame with a tinny sounding speaker covered in some sort of brown mesh. The line was Take my Wife – Please.

Henny Youngman was known for his quick one liner jokes and his shows often only lasted for 10 or 20 minutes with countless jokes.

Now my Pistons are a joke as they go from the team that was always a threat to win it all to the team everybody wants on their schedule so they can get an easy victory. The latest team to beat up on the Pistons is the Bulls.

The Pistons were outrebounded, 49-32. Detroit shot only 39% (34-for-88) from the field and 5-for-18 (28%) from the three-point line. Chicago was 48% from the field.

“I saw a number of positive things out there,” Pistons coach John Kuester said. “I’m sure people are going to hear that and say, ’You must be kidding,’ but we did some good things. We lost Rip (Hamilton), Tayshaun (Prince) and Ben Gordon for extended periods of time, and there’s no chance that they were going to come right back in midseason form.”

Tayshaun and Rodney Stuckey long for the winning

Now we hear that Coach Kuester and Charlie Villanueva are having a rift because Charlie is not playing defense. Huh? When did Charlie Villanueva ever play defense?

“I’ve been struggling the past couple of games,” Villanueva said of the team’s eight-game losing streak heading into today’s game against the Bulls. “We talked about it and I made some defensive, you know, I missed assignments. And he took me out because of that. I understand it, but you move on. You move on and worry about the next game.”
That could be easier said than done.
Villanueva hasn’t played well since he started struggling with plantar fasciitis in his right foot and a bout with the stomach flu Monday that required a hospital visit.

Hopefully Joe Dumars can right the ship in spite of the fact that they have no cap space for next year. Arrgh!
