NBAObsessed was offered the opportunity to eat some Thai wings and watch the Orlando Magic NBA game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and could not pass up the opportunity. It was a fantastic game made more fantastic by some favorite beverages and even more fine food thus settling the palate, but whetting my appetite for more NBA basketball playoff style.

The sad part about the adventure was that it followed my attendance at the Michigan State Spartans loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes in a college basketball contest featuring two of the 3 best teams in the Big Ten. The game left the third team, Purdue, pretty much in the driver’s seat to capture a share of the Big Ten crown or the crown out right.

Speaking of crowns, King James and new court jester Antawn Jamison warmed up to the task in this game, but could not get it done as Jameer Nelson stuck a late three dagger style to ice the game for Orlando. Dwight Howard has some tremendous battles in this game with the Shaq. It was amusing to see that Shaq weighs easily 350 pounds now and struggles to make some of his moves.

Orlando needed to win this game to remind the NBA that the playoffs are games you actually have to play and win for them to count.

Their chances of getting back to the Finals indubitably died when the Cleveland Cavaliers orchestrated the deal at the trading deadline to bring in Antawn Jamison. That’s when it became official this would be the year King James finally wins his exalted championship.

In fact, why are the Magic even bothering to play the King’s Cavs today at the Am? Why are they even playing the rest of the season? It’s a foregone conclusion LeBron and the Cavs are going to come out of the East, right?

That’s what the NBA league office wants, it’s obviously what the NBA refs want (Matt Barnes will be whistled for three fouls by the time LeBron steps off the team bus today) and it’s what the NBA media believes.

Orlando has sent a message that the Antawn Jamison deal has not delivered the NBA title just yet and Orlando still feels they can win it all.
