It is not that Danny Granger says what is on his mind or that he has a build that makes others call him the round mound of rebound, no, no, it is nothing like that at all. Heck, Charles never even played for the Indiana Pacers and Danny is kind of skinny. The real problem for Danny Granger is playing for the Indiana Pacers.
You see Charles was an awesome player that could just dominate games in a way that made no sense at all. He was listed at 6′5″ and sometimes 6′ 6″ tall, but his true height according to Charles himself was closer to 6′4″ tall and yet he is still 16th all time in rebounds with 12,546. In fact Shaq just passed him recently.
Danny Granger can score like Charles Barkley
Charles was also a scoring machine, a fearless shooter from anywhere scoring over 23,000 points in his career. Playing for the original Dream Team Charles was fun to watch as he fearlessly played his normal game of shooting from all over while most of the Dream Team tried to force the ball to the rack. When the Dream Team stalled out, Charles and Hakeem Olajuwon seemed to be able to play their own games and succeed.
Charles was all those things, but one thing he was not was an NBA Champion and one thing that appears a long way off for Danny Granger if he stays with the Pacers is an NBA Championship.
Sure Danny can score and Danny can rebound and he is even taller at 6′8”, but you cannot win NBA titles with one player. Just ask Charles.
The Pacers have problems just ask their coach.
“There seems to be a gap between the elite teams and the rest of us,” Pacers coach Jim O’Brien said. “The rest of us just are not where we need to be from the standpoint of consistent defensive toughness to win on the road.”

The problems for the Pacers don’t stop there.
“Teams that win consistently on the road, they have strong internal leadership,” Pacers television analyst Clark Kellogg said. “You can’t find any team that wins on the road that doesn’t have good, strong leadership in terms of setting that tone and mind-set. They have a way of saying we’re going to handle our business.”
Now in the big bad cruel NBA, Danny Granger can score and rebound, but he will need leadership, talent, and defense around him if he expects to win an NBA title. If not, then he stands a chance to become a Hall of Fame player without a NBA Championship ring just like Charles Barkley.
