The Spurs led much of the game but faded late in the contest. The San Antonio team, which is still without the services of starting point guard Tony Parker, were led by Manu Ginobili with 24 points and Parker’s fill-in George Hill with 21.

Tim Duncan might be the best power forward of all time, but it wasn’t his night. He shot an atrocious 2-for-11 from the field and finished the game with just six points and 12 rebounds.

“It was a playoff-type of atmosphere,” Bryant said. “We were down in the first half. We had to battle back. It was a good win for us to start this road trip.”
