Kobe Bryant hasn’t played like Kobe Bryant in quite a while. The superstar shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers has battle multiple injuries and has seen his offensive efficiency plummet. On Tuesday night, he was back to his old form as he lifted the Lakers past the Oklahoma City Thunder by a final score of 95-92.

Kobe finished with 39 points and five rebounds, while doing most of his damage in the fourth quarter. Pau Gasol had 25 points and 12 rebounds as he dominated the middle for L.A.

For the Thunder, it was another case of so close yet so far. Down the stretch, Kevin Durant was able to shoot a three-pointer that would have given the Thunder the lead — but he missed it. Jeff Green had a shot at the buzzer to send the game into overtime — but the ball clanged off the rim.

Durant led the way for OKC with 32 points, eight rebounds, four blocked shots and two steals. Russell Westbrook had 19 points, while rookie Serge Ibaka had six points, five rebounds and seven blocked shots off the bench.

Game 3 will be played in Oklahoma City and should be a great contest. Don’t be surprised if Durant and the Thunder blow out the Lakers in the city’s first ever home playoff game.
